The Earth and Beyond

Recently with the exploration of maps and our globe the class began
to discover that the Earth is a planet.
In a group discussion it was brought up that Earth is not the only planet.
That day the children started drawing pictures of the Earth as you would see it from space.
Some drew the Earth with other planets.
Ashby told us, "my world is in space"
Space is such a huge concept to grasp for this age group, and many questions arose.
Arthur wanted to know "how does the Earth turn night and day?"
Using the overhead projector as the sun we were able to show the class how the Earths rotation effects the time of day.
This was just one of many questions about space we hope to answer in the coming weeks.
