Summer camp art!

We did two different color resist projects. We used stickers for the first and a white pastel crayon for the second.  We used Spray bottles filled with watercolor paint. The drawing seemed to magically appear.

"Oh The Places You Will Go" Graduation 2010

It never ceases to amaze me how fast a school year can go. It seems like yesterday we were  making our  A  collage and making apple prints. This  year I had my largest to date vpk class…12  wonderful children each with their own unique attributes and distinctive  personalities. Each  with exceptional intelligence, remarkable  kindness, and  I  feel honored and blessed to be given the opportunity to be a part of their first school experience.  This road that we travel with our children from the day they are born and become separate from us until the day they are off on their own is just a series of little letting goes. One small letting go  after another, preparing them and us for the inevitable day they go off into the world on their own.  I have confidence that this group of children are ready for the journey that lies ahead.

W is for weaving!

Weaving is great for strengthening fine motor skills. The children loved the process. We learned about textiles and how they are made. We talked about what a loom is and where yarn comes from. We discussed the words "over" and "under".
